Due to lingering concerns about the COVID-19 health crisis, both summer 7s rugby competition and NERFU Cup, which had been moved from May to August, are cancelled. Additionally, the NERFU Management Committee will review the feasibility of continuing fall 15s competition for senior clubs and will provide an update by July 1. The committee is still evaluating the impact on college clubs.
Continuation of rugby activities will be contingent on complying with World Rugby and USA Rugby return-to-play guidelines as well as with state/local authorities, which may vary from state to state.
In response to the varying health and safety regulations each state has imposed, NERFU has appointed specific coordinators per state to liaise between clubs and advise the NERFU Management Committee.. As such, member teams may connect with their respective State Coordinator in order to stay abreast of local rules.
