We are thrilled to announce the Canadian Classics – a national touring club with two men’s teams and two women’s teams – is coming to New England this summer! NERFU will muster the very best players from men’s and women’s clubs in our union to not only represent New England – but the United States – in a series of massive international fixtures!
Men from Canada and New England will face off on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Women from both sides of the border will compete on Saturday, July 15, 2023. The Canadian guests will also host a couple of community skills camps, donating equipment from the event to beneficiary rugby organizations from New England.
NERFU is kicking off a recruitment campaign to pull together the very best of New England players, coaches, and referees.
This is shaping into a premier NERFU event and there are lots of ways for players, coaches, and other supporters to participate.
The Canadian Classics are a competitive club and we need the very best of New England to show up! The first step for players interested in representing NERFU is to sign up and register their interest. Current plans include coaching staff; around three pre-game training sessions in the Spring or early Summer; NERFU jerseys; post match festivities and more! Further details will announced in the forthcoming days.
NERFU is seeking coaches for both the men’s and women’s teams. Each head coach will receive a modest stipend. Additional volunteer coaches are welcome! Further details will announced in the forthcoming days.
