Over the MLK weekend NERFU sent 15 collegiate rugby players to Houston, TX to represent the conference and their school in a National All-Star and Rising Star Tournaments hosted by National Collegiate Rugby. These 15 players made up the rosters of the three New England Independents teams sent from the Northeast region.
The Independents had an excellent showing this weekend with the Independent Blue, the regions rising star team finishing second in their tournament and the Independent Red, one of two teams from the Region entered into the All-Star taking home the Shield with a 18 to 8 victory over the Pacific Coast team in the finals to cap off an undefeated weekend.
