Men’s head Coach

Amoskeag Rugby Club

The Amoskeag Men’s Rugby Football Club has an immediate opening for head coach. Training sessions are held at the Sununu Youth Development Services Center in Manchester on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with an occasional Wednesday session, from 6-8pm.  Matches are played Saturday afternoons.  Amoskeag seeks an enthusiastic coach who will be dedicated to the players and the Club’s growth. 

I.                 Qualifications

 

v  Level 200 USA Rugby Coaching Certification or Willingness to Obtain such Certification

v  At least Three (3) Years Coaching Experience

v  Working knowledge of New England Rugby Football Union League and Match Play Rules

v  Working knowledge of New England Rugby Football Union Administrative Procedures

 

II.               Requirements

 

v  Enthusiastic Commitment to the Club and its Players:

Ø  Ability to Create Vision, Development, and Implementation of Short-and-Long-Term Club Growth Strategy

Ø  Plan and Develop Short-and-Long-Term Recruitment and Retention Strategy

Ø  Mentor and advise Coaching Staff and Players, where appropriate

Ø  Develop Sustainable Culture of Accountability and Competitiveness

Ø  Challenge Players and Maintain their Sustained Engagement in the Program

v  Organization of Training Sessions and Match Plans

v  Ensure that all Sessions are Designed to Develop the Skills and Understanding of the Players

v  Evaluate all Coaching Sessions and Matches with Coaching Staff and Players

v  Ability to Effectively Communicate with Coaching Staff, Captain, and Players

v  Ability to be Present at all Trainings and Matches

v  Organization and Development of Off-Season and Pre-Season Training Programs

v  Organization and Development of Summer 15’s or 7’s Tournament Schedule

 

III.             Compensation

 

v  The successful head coaching candidate will receive a pre-approved stipend

 

IV.            Club Profile

Based in Manchester, New Hampshire, Amoskeag was originally established in 1984.  Amoskeag fields competitive sides in Men’s, Women’s, and Youth programs in the New England Rugby Football Union.  The Amoskeag Men are the 2019 NERFU Division III champions and are composed of a roster of experienced players.
