The Boston Ironsides RFC are seeking a new head coach for the Fall season of 2022. Practices will be starting in mid to late August.
The Ironsides are a senior amateur rugby football club dedicated to learning, teaching, and playing rugby union; to forging new friendships; to celebrating others’ differences; and to giving back to our supportive communities through charitable and educational activities. We are committed to building a competitive, social, and diverse team, welcoming players regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, race, religion, age, or physical ability.
As head coach of the Ironsides, you would be the focal point for implementation of the Ironsides’ mission on pitch. The head coach will be expected to create a vision for the team’s play, and execute that vision. As members of both NERFU men’s Division 4 and the International Gay Rugby (IGR) community, we have a variety of coaching needs to accomplish all of our goals. The Ironsides are a travel team, and as such, an expectation for travel with the team will be expected. Travel typically occurs during Spring and occasionally Summer.
A club committed to diversity, we are also diverse in experience levels. Ironsides players range from 20+ years of rugby to no sports experience. With an active roster of 50+ players, creating space for each player and challenging them where they are will be critical to success as a coach for the Ironsides.
You will have a strong support network with people committed to the success of the club. The e-board, captains, senior players, and supports will all be committed to your success. Your success is our success, and we want to commit to your success.
